Carpet Cleaning in Dallas by Certified Professionals

Last week I did an experiment. I was curious to know how many carpet cleaning companies in the Dallas and Fort Worth area are certified for carpet cleaning by the IICRC, The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification. The IICRC is the leading body of certification and training for the carpet cleaning industry in the world. It is a non-profit organization that establishes programs and standards that they monitor to help consumers find trusted and trained cleaning professionals.
There are a few requirements for a business to be IICRC Certified:
- Provide proof of insurance
- Maintain a customer complaint policy and document follow-up
- Provide ongoing education and certification for all technicians
- Abide by the IICRC Code of Ethics
Well the results were that within a 100 mile radius of our Zerorez Office, we only have 55 certified firms. Only 55! Guess how many carpet cleaners I have in my most recent Greater Fort Worth Yellow Pages - 189. That means if every one of the certified firms in the Metroplex were listed in my phone book - which I know that they aren't - then only 29% are actually certified to clean carpet by the IICRC. Scary thought. To make matters worse, I know that there are more carpet cleaners in Dallas than in Fort Worth and that will make the percentage even less.
If you want to check it out yourself, you can visit the IICRC's website and find all the certified firms. Just make sure that you do a large enough radius, because companies like us are only listed in our home zip code even though we serve the entire DFW Metroplex.
