Zerorez is excited to annonce that their technology continues to lead the carpet cleaning industry. On February 11, The Carpet and Rug Institute in Dalton, GA, the science-based source on carpet, announced that their seal of approval program has been expanded and listed select carpet cleaning systems that are classified as platinum. Zerorez made the list for platinum with our test results that are over 2 years old.
What is the SOA?
The seal of approval (SOA) program tests and evaluates cleaning systems in 7 specific areas: soil removal, water removal, texture retention, rate of resoiling, pH, optical brighteners, and colorfastness. Those that pass these tests can be awarded bronze, silver, gold, and now platinum. Platinum demonstrates the highest level of cleaning efficiency, verifying that at least 90% of the soil was removed during the cleaning process. In other words, if a carpet cleaning company hasn’t gained the Platinum seal of approval, they are leaving at least 10% of the soil in the carpet. That is why it is so significant to be tested and have proven results.
Room for Carpet Cleaner Error.
Of course, it is also important to note that the testing procedures followed very specific steps. You can read how each system gained their score on the CRI’s website. Some must dry vacuum with their system a couple of times prior to any cleaning, and then use a series of chemicals with difficult dilution ratios and applications, and then specific numbers of cleaning and dry passes – giving the cleaning professional quite a bit of room for error. The Zerorez system avoids these problems by having a very simple system that virtually can’t be messed up by the cleaning professional.
